After eight years in the making, we have finally identified "mystery blonde # 3". A pair of unrelated viewer tips came in, both of which were completely accurate. The first indicated that RINDY was Miss Gazzarri 1965 at the Hollywood a Go-Go club. The second tip provided additional information that allowed us to uniquely identify her.
RINDY was born in Wisconsin, and the family moved to Oklahoma a few years later. While still a young child in Wisconsin her mother introduced her to hula dancing (both prophetic words for her future). After Oklahoma we know that the family moved to southern California no later than 1959. Once the family had settled in California we find her working on the SS Catalina as a magician's assistant in 1964. The following year she was again a magician's assistant, as well as a clown, on a Bob Hope USO show. We do not know if the USO job was before her GAZZARRI DANCER job or after it in 1965.
As far as we can tell, RINDY is the only GAZZARRI DANCER who can be documented as dancing on HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO and also at Bill Gazzarri's nightclub. The stage dancers at the club were also called GAZZARRI DANCERS, but as previously explained on this website, are not to be confused with the completely different set of GAZZARRI DANCERS who appeared on the TV show. RINDY was the exception (DeANN and MIMI danced in the audience at the club, but not on stage). RINDY danced on about a dozen episodes (ep # 21 - ep # 32), and possibly on episode # 33 (for which we have scant video documentation). She was never part of the core group that did dance routines on stage together, but was utilized on the dance floor, or one of the small riser platforms, or on the ladders often seen at the main stage corners. And all to good effect. She had impressive go-go skills. We even see her showcased during SAM'S introduction to Jimmy Witherspoon's performance from ep # 32. She left the show about the same time that the other short-term summer hires suddenly disappeared from our TV screens, only to be replaced by professionally trained dancers MARIA POGEE and DAWN MICHAELS.
But we do get to see RINDY again, only this time in a movie. The year 1969 saw the release of the horror cult classic "Nightmare In Wax" starring Cameron Mitchell. Parts of the movie were filmed in Bill Gazzarrri's Hollywood a Go-Go club. There is a scene featuring the Gazzarri Dancers from the club in which RINDY is featured. Actress Victoria Carroll does a great job of fitting in with the real dancers. The movie was produced at least a year prior to its 1969 release date, but it's clear that RINDY had not lost her dancing skills in the interim between leaving HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO and the movie. By the early 1980s she had settled in Hawaii on Oahu, and has lived there ever since. It appears that RINDY and MIMI were unaware that they were both living on Oahu concurrently at one time. In another coincidence, RINDY has been active in the Halloween business, designing and selling costumes, mirroring DeANN and her involvement in the same business with her brother in Las Vegas.
