CAN YOU PROVIDE CLUES TO THE IDENTITY OF THESE MYSTERY DANCERS ?

There are dancers that we have been unable to contact because we just don't know their names. Most of these girls were short-termers who appeared on only a few episodes. If you danced on the show and see this website, please contact us. If any of our readers know of any clues to help us locate these, or any other dancers, please contact us.

UNKNOWN BLONDE 3
- NOW IDENTIFIED -
Another blonde-haired beauty who appeared on episode # 21 through to episode # 32. It appears that she started on episode # 21 as an audience dancer undergoing a tryout for a GAZZARRI DANCER position. The first three photos below are from the ep # 21 Pair Extraordinaire "A Hundred Pounds of Clay" performance. The next six photos show her during the ep # 23 Jerry Mason "Voodoo Woman" performance. Below that are two photos with good looks of her from ep # 32 Jimmy Witherspoon's "I'm Comin' Down With the Blues" performance.
A sharp eyed reader alerted us to the fact that she danced as a Gazzarri nightclub dancer in the 1969 movie "Nightmare In Wax." You can view her in the following video from that movie. She is the blonde on the far left scantily attired in black. Her go-go moves are very impressive.

The quartet of color photographs below are from the movie. Chances are that someone with her stunning looks and GAZZARRI DANCER on her resume continued in showbiz. Does anyone know who she is?

And yet another mystery dancer. This lady is a sandy-colored blonde, and these images are also from episode # 32. We know that she appeared in episode # 24 through to episode # 37, which gave her a three month tenure on the show. and that she wore jeans with a white drawstring on the front.

UNKNOWN DANCER 6
Appearing on episode # 9 , and most famous for her floor dance with the "old guy", this unknown dancer could have been one of the original dancers on the show or she might have just been on for just one episode. With so few early episode videos and performances to work with we are at a disadvantage in trying to place this girl in the history of the show. There is however plenty of footage of her from episode # 9 so perhaps a viewer might recognize her.
|
UNKNOWN DANCER 7
This unknown dancer (another blonde) appeared throughout episode # 9. She was not on episode # 6, which is the only episode prior to # 9 that is currently available on video. She was gone by episode # 15 , which is the next fully available video after # 9. The three photos below are all still extractions taken from a video of grainy quality. In the left-hand photo unknown dancer # 7 is the girl in the middle between unknown dancer # 6 on the left and DALE VANN on the right. The center photo shows her between DALE on the left and DeANN on the right. And in the photo on the right she can be seen as the dancer sitting next to DeANN. If anyone has any clue as to her identity please contact us.

UNKNOWN DANCER 8
- NOW IDENTIFIED -
This unknown dancer with auburn colored hair appeared on episode # 28 and the ALOHA A GO-GO episode. It appears that she took the place of DALE VANN, who did not go to Hawaii.
STOP PRESS: THIS DANCER HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED. PLEASE SEE GAY SCHICKLER ON OUR SHORT-TERM DANCER PAGE.

THE TWINS (9A and 9B)
LINDA and ROSE
Appearing on episode # 6, and possibly # 1-5 and # 7 and # 8 were the blonde twins. We know that their first names are LINDA and ROSE. Both had very long poni-tails and were short in stature. Both were gone by episode # 9 and it is possible that they could have been on the premier episode. They were often seen clapping their hands while seated. We get a good look at them on the Walker Brothers "Cottonfields" performance from episode # 6. We have discovered that after leaving the show they turned up in Idaho to continue dancing in clubs as a named act.

|
The advertisement on the left comes from the June 23, 1967 issue of the Nampa, Idaho "Free Press". The only footage that we have of the pair is from episode # 6 tapes and also a 1965 tape from Gazzarri's nightclub. We know that they were gone by episode # 9. We don't know where they were in the intervening years before reappearing in Idaho, but it seems that they continued dancing.

UNKNOWN DANCER 10
Appearing on episode # 6 and like the Twins possibly also on episodes # 1-5, and episode # 7 and # 8. She was a dark-haired brunette with a darker complexion than the other dancers.
|
UNKNOWN DANCER 11
Appearing on the episode # 13 rehearsal (see photo on "GD photos" page) is this lanky brunette with a distinctive long bangs hairstyle. The only documentation we have of her is the photo from the rehearsal although it would be reasonable to say that she appeared in at least that episode.
