LUCILLE WILLS has always been a beach girl. She grew up on the beach in southern California and she still resides in a house overlooking the Pacific. One of her highlight moments as a GAZZARRI DANCER was during Chuck Berry's performance of "Maybellene". She shared the stage solo with him and tagged along as he duckwalked across the stage - a classic performance!
It follows that LUCILLE appeared in two beach related roles after her time on HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO. After filming the Bill Burrud surfing documentary in late 1965, she had a role in the 1968 film "Countdown".

The photo below shows LUCILLE playing the role of "Maybellene" with Chuck Berry onstage during episode # 22. The other dancer shown in front is DeANN.

The photo on the left shows LUCILLE, surfboard in hand, shortly after she left HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO, to appear in a two-part TV show titled "Surfing The West Indies". It first aired during the week of November 27, 1965. The host and producer was Bill Burrud, who was quite famous for his travel programs. Sharp eyed viewers might notice that her polka-dot bikini is the same one she wore on ALOHA A GO-GO only a few months earlier. This photo originally appeared in the TV sections of southern California newspapers.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with LUCILLE at the Ritz Carlton in Marina del Rey on January 26, 2012. Not only does she look and sound great, she is also a generous and gracious lady who made my brief visit to LAX most memorable. I look forward to visiting California again to meet up with her and several other of the GAZZARRI DANCERS.

The lovely photo below of LUCILLE was taken in April 2015 at JUNE'S memorial service.
