For all intents and purposes ALOHA A GO-GO was a special episode of HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO sandwiched in between episodes # 29 and # 30. KHJ obviously thought that taping a special episode in Hawaii to take advantage of the current craze for surf music would be a good marketing idea. And it worked. This performance was taped at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel which is located directly on Waikiki beach in Honolulu. It is still there to this day. No GAZZARRI DANCERS appear in this performance at the hotel but we do see several beach scenes with bikini clad beauties. Some of them could be dancers but the poor quality of the tape prohibits any positive identification. We do get to see Gayle Caldwell and Jackie Miller interacting with SAM RIDDLE as he attempts to eat breakfast at the hotel lanai. Jackie & Gayle also performed this song on episodes # 25 and # 44. It appears that this was their signature tune and unfortunately it never climbed the charts.
They were also musical guests in another beach related production from 1966, "Wild Wild Winter". In fact all of the musical guests in this movie - the Astronauts, Jay & the Americans, Dick & Dee Dee, the Beau Brummels, Jackie & Gayle - also appeared on HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO during the previous year. And one of the uncredited dancers in the movie was GAZZARRI DANCER ROBERTA TENNES.
